Aisling Bea

Aisling is an Irish-born comedian that has been in the business for a long time. She was born in Kildare, Ireland, on 16th March 1984. She appeared with Stephen Fry on QI. Aisling Cliodhnadh (born 16th March 1984) is a comedian and actress from Ireland. After playing bits in several Irish and British television shows since 2009 Bea was able to begin her stand-up comic in the year 2011. She began appearing frequently on sketch comedy shows and sitcoms later in the year. Following her win at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards she began to appear regularly on various panel shows where she was a frequent guest. In 2016 and 2017, she was a part of 8 Out of 10 Cats team in addition to being a performer of the 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown spinoff. Parents were Brian and Helen O'Sullivan. She has an older sister named Sinead. In 2012, she was the first woman ever to be awarded the So You Think You Are Funny Award. Her surname honors the memory of her father who passed away. Aisling Cliodhnadh was born on April 16, 1984, in Kildare Town in County Kildare. The father of Bea was Brian was a veterinarian for horses that committed suicide at three-years-old. She did not learn the cause of her death until 13 years later. The stage name she chose was Bea in honor of her father. She published an article in The Guardian in 2017 about the family's suicide experience. Bea's mom Helen was also an instructor for jockeys and a former professional jockey was in charge of raising her and Sinead. The family was obsessed with racing and horses. Bea had a job as a Tour Guide for the Irish National Stud. From a very young age, Bea knew that she was not interested in a racing career. Instead, she was drawn to the performing arts.
